Smartlists for use with Filter

You can filter any of the playlists or smartlists in your database. But rather than filter a few items individually (Christmas music, Rating=1, Carpenters), it is easy to create a smartlist which includes all items you want to filter. Create your smartlist (and remember to include rather than exclude the items), then go the Playback Options button on the Player Window | Playback filter | Skip and select your smartlist.

The following is an example of the kind of Smartlist you can use as a filter:

genre=Christmas or rating=1 or artist=Carpenters

This rule will play all songs with the genre "Christmas", all songs with a rating of 1, and all Carpenters’ songs. You then use filter to skip this Smartlist. In this way, you will skip all of those songs that would normally play under that Smartlist.
