Save and Update Tags

By default, Media Center saves both ID3 v1 and v2 tags and it automatically updates the tags when the file information changes in the database. Media Center also reads the ID3 v2 tags when importing files.

To change how tags are saved:

Go to Tools | Plug-in Manager | Input | MP3 Plug-in and select Configure.

Choose the actions you want to take in ID3v1 Mode and/or ID3v2 Mode.

To disable automatic tag updating from file information:

•

Go to Options | General and uncheck "Update tags when file info changes".

To ignore ID3v2 tags on import:

•

Go to Tools | Plug-in Manager | Input | MP3 Plug-in and select Configure

•

Check "Ignore ID3v2 tag during analysis”. While this may speed up the import process, it will also limit the information retrieved from the file.
