IRMan

This is a universal infrared receiver device that plugs into a serial port on your computer. It is compatible with almost all infrared remote controls. You can probably setup your existing TV/VCR or Stereo remote control to work with this receiver. You can purchase an IRMan at the Evation website www.evation.com.

To configure IRMan for use with Media Center

1.

Go to Tools | Plug-in Manager, select "Remotes" in the tree, then "IRMAN".

Select the Configure button. You can now set up your remote control so it’s buttons will map to Media Center functions.

Select the New button. This creates an entry for a new remote control unit.

Accept the default name or rename it. Then highlight it and press the Train button. The training dialog is displayed that contains a list of Media Center commands.

Click on a command one at a time and press the button on your remote to correspond to that command, or you can use the Auto button, which will start at the top and move down the list as you press the corresponding buttons. The Skip button will skip over a command while you are in auto mode.

6.

Return to the to the plug-in manager dialog and press the Start button to start using the remote.
